He Kupu Whakataki | Introduction
After a crazy Winter, dealing with the ever-changing weather, spending time with whānau and even a bit of travel thrown in, all4eight is stepping back into the sunshine. As Tamanuiterā and Papatūānuku awaken, we are ready to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori 2025 ( September the 14th – 22nd. )
Keeping it Reo. Keeping it Real.
Historically, our language has survived multiple attempts over generations to be silenced, where now it is thriving. So here at all4eight, we're Keeping it Real by Keeping it Reo. No matter if it's one word that you begin to use, or a sentence, or you have te reo Māori rolling off your tongue, keep it Reo. A wee play on words, if you will. We'll keep playing some more too. Keep an eye out. Our design has a purposeful retro vibe for the Summer ahead. Enjoy.
Te Kore – The Source of Potential/ From the Nothingness
Our inspiration begins with Te Kore - the realm before time, before darkness and light. It is a space of infinite possibility, where all creation begins. From this state of potential, new ideas and forms emerge. Since the beginning...
Aotearoa – Our Shared Identity
Te reo Māori, an official language of Aotearoa, recognised by the Crown as a taonga (precious gift) of iwi (tribes) and hapū (sub-tribes), and safeguarded under Te Tiriti o Waitangi, is a cornerstone of our shared identity in Aotearoa. As a bicultural nation, we all have a role in nurturing and strengthening this taonga so it can continue to thrive for generations to come.
Mai i Te Kore. Keeping it Reo: Since the beginning of time, te reo Māori has existed, and will continue to thrive, no matter what, let's be real about that.
He Taonga mō Tātou Katoa (A Precious Gift for Everyone)
Our designs are an expression of kotahitanga - honouring both te ao Māori and te ao Pākehā, and acknowledging that te reo Māori enriches us all.
